The Cast

Pauline Boudreaux (Myrtle Mae Simmons)  Pauline is thrilled to be performing again with ACT.  She previously performed with the company in The Sinatra Birthday Bash at the Fine Arts Center in New Orleans.  She was last seen performing as Mindy for Shine Production’s Five Women Wearing the Same Dress.  She is a member of the St. Philip Players and was seen performing in their production of Harvey as Mrs. Chauvenet and Mrs. Chumley.  Other past performances have been Sugar and The Women with Kenner Rivertown.  She was also a member of Shoestring Players and has performed in their various childrens’ productions of Bayou Yaga and Dreamspinner.  She has also done various commercials for Trane and Tenet which ran throughout the Southeast region, as well as various casino commercials.  She wishes to thank her family for their continuous, unconditional love and support - I love you all with my life.  Thank you.

 


Meredith Long Dieth (Veta Louise Simmons)   Meredith is thrilled to be joining A.C.T. and helping New Orleans renew its theatre community. Meredith is not a native New Orleanian, but a transplant from NYC. Her husband, Ford Jones Dieth Jr., was born and raised in New Orleans and is currently a teacher at Christian Brothers School. Meredith is also a teacher of talented theatre in St. Tammany Parish. The both of them enjoy spraying for mold and gutting their home. They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their FEMA trailer! Meredith is a graduate of the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. Her past credits include Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at JPAS, Cha Cha in the National tour of Grease, and the Disney Cruise Line. She has also performed in numerous other regional and touring companies.

 


Roland " Butch" Caire, Jr. (Elwood P. Dowd/Co-Director)   In his role as founder of Artists' Cooperative Theater (ACT) and as a local actor/singer, Butch has had been privileged to work with some of the most talented people in the area. He has performed with the Jefferson Symphony Chorus, and in Jefferson Performing Arts Society’s productions of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Die Fledermaus, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, Sweet Charity, The Merry Widow, Chicago, and Evita. With ACT, he has produced, directed, or appeared in Eating Raoul, the Musical, Zombies From The Beyond, The Sinatra Supperclub, The Sinatra Birthday Bash, The Fantasticks, and The Truth About Santa Claus. A member of BMI, Butch is also an accomplished musician and composer. Also, look for him as Emile in the upcoming May production of South Pacific at Rivertown Repertory Theatre. In his spare time, Butch practices dentistry in Kenner. Butch would like to thank the cast, and crew for their patience, their energy, and their efforts which all, make him appear much more talented than he is. And he thanks his wife, Gwen, and his family for tolerating his passion for theater and making it a part of their lives, as well.

 


Sandy Taliancich (Miss Johnson)   This is Sandy's first appearance with Artist's Cooperative Theatre, but her second appearance in "Harvey," having played Miss Johnson in the St. Philip Players' production.  Other theatre involvement includes props for "Harvey," and "Arsenic and Old Lace," and costume assistant for, "The Magical Lamp of Aladdin."

 


Arvilla Riddick (Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet)   A 35+ year veteran of children’s, civic and summer theatres, Arvilla is very pleased to once again be a part of ACT production company. Her all time favorite role is that of Fritzie in ACT’s 2004 production of 70, Girls, 70. She has just completed a successful run as the Wicked Step-Mother in Rivertown Imagine Theatre’s production of Cinderella. Having appeared in several local television commercials, Arvilla’s film credits include Strange Fruit, filmed in Louisiana for Fencesitter Productions and Outta Sync (currently in editing), filmed in Hollywood for Vintage 98 Productions. She enjoys working with her favorite leading man and husband of four years, Jeff (Judge Gaffney and aka: Da Banjo Man). Thanks to Butch, Gwen and the wonderful cast and crew of HARVEY. Stacy Taliancich (Ruth Kelly, R.N./Co-Director/Costumes)   Stacy was last seen on stage working with Actors Theatre of New Orleans in their productions of A Christmas Carol the Whole Story and All in the Timing. Stacy holds a BFA with honors in Theatre Performance and Design and Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was last seen as the star performer in the cabaret show June With Judy at True Brew Theatre, as Mary Magdalene in the JPAS/WPAC production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and as the Blue Fairy in Rivertown's Imagine Theatre for Children's Production of Pinocchio. Some other favorite roles include Mary Bland in Eating Raoul: The Musical at True Brew Theatre, Chanteuse Ros in My Name is Alice, Mary Malone in Zombies from the Beyond at the Fine Arts Center and as Nurse Kelly in the St. Philip Players' production, "Harvey," which she directed last summer. Here in New Orleans she divides her time in theatre among acting, directing and costume/mask design. Her costume credits include Cinderella, Who Kidnapped Mother Goose?, A Winter's Tale, Pinocchio, The Magical Lamp of Aladdin, Burn This, and The Wizard of Oz. Other acting credits include Candy Starr in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Laura in Laura Dennis, Whitney in A Piece of My Heart, Bobbi Michelle in The Last of the Red Lovers, Patty Simcox in Grease at Le Petit Theatre and Lena in The Rimers of Eldritch, which went on to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as part of the American College Theatre Festival. Stacy has appeared in musical productions in North Georgia with the Appalachian Educational and Historical Society and Southern Appalachian Stages. She is also a company member of Porta-Puppet Players here in New Orleans and the director of the St. Philip Neri Drama Program and the St. Philip Players. She would like to thank her parents for their continuing love and support. 

 

Jimmy deMontluzin (Duane Wilson)   Jimmy has been quite busy in local theater the last few years. His most recent appearances have been in Arsenic and Old Lace for the St. Philip Players and in Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Chicago, the Musical, all for Jefferson Performing Arts Society in the past year. He also appeared in 70, Girls, 70 and Eating Raoul for Artists Cooperative Theater, a previous production of Harvey for The St. Philip Players, and in Oliver and Sweet Charity for JPAS. He has also worked the production end of several shows for ACT, including The Fantasticks, Zombies from the Beyond, and The Sinatra Supper Club. He would like to thank his wife, family, and friends for their support that allows him experience the joy of entertaining others on the stage.

 


Jonathan Mares (Lyman Sanderson, M.D.)   Jonathan is currently a student at UNO majoring in Theatre. Harvey marks his 26th production in the New Orleans area. He has performed at Jesuit High School, True Brew, Rivertown, JPAS, Westwego Perf. Arts Theatre, Houma Civic Center, the Biloxi Grand Theatre, and the Fine Arts Center among others. Some of his performances include: West Side Story (Big Deal), Les Miserables (Jean Valjean), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Cheswick), Copacabana (Rico Castelli), Will Rogers Follies (Flo Ziegfeld), To Kill A Mockingbird (Bob Ewell), Chess (Ivan Molokov), Zombie Prom (Eddie Flagrante), Eating Raoul (Donna's Boy), Chicago (Harrison), Biloxi Blues (James Hennesey), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Aggie), Evita (Lover), and Hair (George Berger). He has also appeared as an extra in numerous commercials and feature films including A Love Song For Bobby Long, Miracle Run, and Glory Road. Jonathan would like to thank his friends and his loving parents for supporting him in all his endeavors.

 


Michael Sullivan (William R. Chumley, M.D.)   Michael last appeared with Artists' Cooperative Theater as the spicy Paul Bland in Eating Raoul. He has been seen around the city at various theaters. Other favorite roles include Father McPorter in both SandiRoads long-running hits Joey and Mary’s Irish Italian Wedding and Queen Of Bingo, Camille Chandel in A Flea In Her Ear at StarCastle Dinner Theater, M. Martin in Hotel Paradiso at Rivertown Repertory Theater, Smee in Peter Pan at JPAS, Labise in Victor/Victoria and Potiphar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, both at Tulane Summer Lyric, a variety of characters in Pat Bourgeois' The Seven Deadly Virtues, several characters in All In The Timing at Actor's Theater of New Orleans, and Arnold in Boys Next Door for Chase Waites Productions (for which he received a Big Easy nomination and a Storer Boone award).

 


Sharon Franks (Betty Chumley)   Sharon Franks is a newcomer to the Artists' Cooperative Theater. "I am honored to be a part of this highly talented organization. The A.C.T. family is an amazing group and welcomed me with opened arms. To my children and family, I love you." 

 

Jeff Riddick (Judge Omar Gaffney)   Jeff, a veteran of over fifty stage, film and TV productions is once again pleased to “tread the boards”, this time as Judge Omar Gaffney. He has just completed a run as Da King in Rivertown Repertory’s production of Cinderella. Other recent roles include Teddy Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Mortimer, The Man Who Dies in The Fantasticks, Pops in The 1940’s Radio Hour and the Postmaster in Damn Yankees. Jeff, aka: “Da Banjo Man” also provides entertainment for several Senior Citizen Facilities in the New Orleans Metro area, playing his tenor banjo and leading sing-along sessions. Jeff dedicates his efforts to his bride of four years, Arvilla. Fracture Appendages, Gang.

 


Earl Scioneaux (E.J. Lofgren)   Earl has appeared in several theaters in the area. He appeared in Rivertown Repertory's production Damn Yankees, and JPAS’ Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Evita!. Earl has a good role in a movie being filmed here. The movie is called LaBou. The film was interrupted by the hurricane and will finish filming in January or February 2006. He hopes you enjoy the show.

 


Harvey (as himself)   is thrilled to be working with ACT in this production of Harvey, he was last seen in the area performing the same role in the St. Phillip Players' 2004 production of Harvey. His favorite role is Harvey, yet at times he thinks he might be typecast. Being the most famous "pooka" in the universe, he spends most of his time planning mischief: watching you undress, moving amongst the bushes in your garden, etc. He longs to visit his homeland of Ireland, and perhaps, with the big bucks he'll make from this community theater production, his dreams might come true.
